As I was stamping this project, I was thinking about my sweet, baby grand daughter and how she's going to be turning one soon and how quickly the time has gone by! Because I live so far away from her (I'm in California, she's in Nebraska), I wanted to make something special for her to remind her of me when I can't be with her. I bought her a beautiful quilt and then made a pretty keepsake box to put it in. The box has a very vintage-y feel to it and that was my jumping off point for this card.
Step by Step
To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:
5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Crumb Cake (card base)
3-3/4" x 5" Blushing Bride
3-5/8" x 4-7/8" Soft Suede
3" x 3" Very Vanilla (for buggy)
Scraps Blushing Bride DSP and Crumb Cake (for sentiment) and Blushing Bride (for flower)
1) Stamp buggy using Soft Suede ink on to Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp flower in Blushing Bride ink on to Blushing Bride cardstock. Use Big Shot and Baby's First Framelits to cut out buggy and flower images. Tear edges of Blushing Bride DSP scrap. Crumble up both flower and DSP, then carefully flatten (to add texture). Stamp sentiment using Soft Suede ink on to Crumb Cake scrap. Clip corners with a small circle punch.
2) Use a sponge dauber to sponge edges of buggy, sentiment piece and DSP using Soft Suede ink. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim approximately 3" long. Cut circled edge away from the rest (the lace was just a little too wide as it was for the buggy, and I ended up using the cut-off part for a bow!). Cut a piece of Tear & Tape approximately 1-3/4" long. Cut again in half, lenthwise (so you'll have a 1-3/4", narrow strip). Apply tape to buggy, then stick lace to it, gathering slightly as you go. Apply a Pearl Basic Jewel to the center of the flower and adhere flower to buggy with a Mini Glue Dot. Layer sentiment over DSP scrap, then add bow with a Mini Glue Dot.
3) Use the Big Shot with the Pretty Paisleys Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss image on to Soft Suede cardstock. Use a sponge dauber and Soft Suede ink to sponge over image and around edges. Layer on to Blushing Bride cardstock, then on to Crumb Cake card base. Adhere buggy and sentiment pieces with Stampin' Dimensionals.
