Trick or Tweet for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello stampin' friends!  Today I'm participating in the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop...if you haven't visited here before, WELCOME!  I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you'll come back often!

This month our theme was Halloween/Fall...I chose to do a Halloween card with the adorable Trick or Tweet stamp set.  I just love the cute little characters in this set!  Here's my project:

I started this card by stamping the cat in black Memento ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  I colored the image with light and dark Pumpkin Pie, light Smoky Slate, light Crumb Cake and dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends, then fussy cut the image with paper snips.  The moon is punched from Pineapple Punch cardstock using the 2-1/4" punch.  I added a little bit of shading to the moon by sponging along one edge with a sponge and Pineapple Punch ink.

I wanted to create a night sky so I did a couple of things on the Gorgeous Grape cardstock in the background.  First, I splattered quite a bit of Wink of Stella over the piece for stars.  I also wanted to have something that looked like the Milky Way so I poured a small amount of Champagne Mist shimmer paint onto my silicon mat, then picked up the paint on a wadded up piece of cling wrap and blotted it onto the background.

The sentiment on the Highland Heather strip at the bottom is stamped in black Memento ink, then adhered to the bottom of the background piece.  I wrapped the Gorgeous Grape 1/4" mini striped ribbon around the edges and attached it to the back before adhering the background to the Highland Heather card base.  The moon is attached with SNAIL adhesive and the cat was attached with mini glue dots.

Pretty quick and easy, and I like the way it shimmers!
