A couple of days ago, I was all ready for the beautiful, cooler Fall weather and then BAM. We get hit with another few days of 100 degrees. Not cool, Mother Nature...not cool at all! I'm still stamping Fall though, hoping those days will be here soon!
When I was stamping this project today, I really needed some kind of background for the Rich Razzleberry cardstock piece of paper. I didn't want to pull out another stamp set so I looked at the pieces in the set. It turns out, the leaves I used on the tree also make a pretty neat background!
Step by Step
To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:
4-1/4" x 11" Soft Suede cardstock (card base)
1-1/4" x 4-1/4" Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper
1" x 4-1/4" Cajun Craze cardstock
2-1/4" x 4-1/4" Rich Razzleberry cardstock
2-1/2" x 2-3/4" Very Vanilla cardstock
2-1/4" x 4-1/4" Very Vanilla cardstock--this piece will be used UNDER the DSP and cable knit pieces, to create stability for ribbon
1) Stamp tree trunk image on to 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" Very Vanilla using Soft Suede ink. Stamp leaves over trunk with Cajun Craze ink. Clean image and stamp again with Rich Razzleberry ink, moving image slightly so that leaves do not overlap. Use this image again, inked in Rich Razzleberry, to stamp repeatedly on to Rich Razzleberry cardstock, to create background. Stamp falling leaves image under tree in Rich Razzleberry ink. Clean image and repeat with Cajun Craze ink. Stamp Happy Birthday under tree using Rich Razzleberry ink. Use a dauber and Soft Suede ink to sponge around edge of Very Vanilla cardstock.
2) Use Big Shot and Cable Knit embossing folder to emboss Cajun Craze cardstock. Layer DSP at very top of 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" Very Vanilla. Layer cable knit piece under DSP (the entire piece of Very Vanilla should be covered...trim any edges that might be showing). On back side of Very Vanilla, put two dabs of adhesive where ribbon will go. Adhere end of ribbon in to adhesive dab, wrap ribbon around front and adhere to other adhesive dab. Cut ribbon. Layer this piece on to very top of Soft Suede card base.
3) Adhere stamped Rich Razzleberry cardstock right under cable knit piece. Adhere tree-stamped image directly under cable knit but off-center toward the right. Tie a knot over ribbon on left side.
These are the products I used for this project:
Until next time...happy stampin'!
