Statement of My Heart

Statement of My Heart

Hello stampin' friends!  I'm back this evening with another pretty card featuring the Share What You Love pre-release bundle.  This card highlights the Statement of My Heart individual stamp which you will receive free when you order the Gotta Have It All bundle this month!

This beautiful stamp is Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart...our "mission statement".  It definitely applies to Stampin' Up! as a company, but also each individual demonstrator and, I think, anyone who uses their creative talents to lift up others.  I love this statement.

A couple of nights ago, I did a fun, online group meeting with several of my downline.  Because we are spread out all over the United States, I had prepared all the pieces for this project ahead of time and sent it out to them so we could all make it together.  It was a lot of fun and we're looking forward to "getting together" like this once a month.  If you've ever thought about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, no matter where you live in the US, whether you want to build a business or just support your stamp habit as a hobby demonstrator, I'd love to have you join us!  If you'd like more information, please click on the Join My Team button, or contact me...I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!

For this card, I started with a piece of watercolor paper and did a light watercolor wash using an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake ink.  When it was completely dry, I picked up some more ink on the Aqua Painter and dropped ink over the wash, then spread it around.  This created a darker layer over the wash in spots.  I let it dry again, then picked up ink on the Aqua Painter a third time and splattered it.  Each new layer of color creates texture on the watercolor paper.  When the splatter was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink.  Finally, I splattered water over the image and quickly poured gold embossing powder over it and heat set it.  The water will dry very quickly when heat is added so some of the powder will be lost but it does create a fine sprinkling of gold flecks for a nice effect!

I layered the watercolor paper onto a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock.  On the left side of the paper, I ran a piece of Tear & Tape.  Near the top, I adhered a piece of linen thread to the tape, then ran a piece of Rich Razzleberry Velvet ribbon the length of the Tear & Tape, trimming the ends to match up with the edge of the cardstock.  The linen thread is tied in a bow over the velvet ribbon.

The focal piece is layered onto another beautiful piece of the Share What You Love Specialty designer series paper.  I can't get enough of this gorgeous paper!  It really is soooooo beautiful!  Finally, everything is layered onto a Crumb Cake card base.
