Stamping for the guys in my life is always a challenge for me. I struggle to NOT add that little something that will “girlie” it up! I think this project was a success….it does have glimmer paper, but it’s offset by enough masculine elements to make it work!
I had originally intended for this card to be horizontal, so that’s the way I cut the By the Shore DSP. When I was playing with all the pieces after they were cut to see how I liked it best, it turned out that it really worked better vertically….which led to a happy accident when I decided to run the DSP through the Seaside embossing folder. I ran it through in the opposite direction of the stripes and I really liked the effect….it now has kind-of a plaid feel! I used the Party Pop-Up thinlets die to create the main image out of silver glimmer paper, and an image from Party with Cake to complete the card. Soooo glad those stayed in the new catalog! ☺
Until next time….happy stampin’!
