Simple Sunday - Peaceful Place

Simple Sunday - Peaceful Place

Happy Sunday stampin' friends!  It's getting down to crunch time as I'm preparing to leave for Orlando for Stampin' Up!'s convention in just a couple of days.  Aaaaaugh, I'm not ready yet!  Well, I'm ready mentally....but I still have a LOT to get done before Tuesday morning at o'dark thirty!  I mentioned in my last post that I was not going to be posting projects here while I'm gone (still true) but I WILL be posting photos and maybe even a couple of live videos on my Facebook page so you can head on over there (Facebook.com/dalbee.pocketfullofstamps) to keep up with my shenanigans in Florida!

Today's project is done with the Peaceful Place stamp set.  This is one of the sets I purchased recently during the 24-hour sale Stampin' Up! had.  It's been on my list since I first saw it because I love the gorgeous, detailed images, but I hadn't added it to my collection yet. But hey!  15% off, yes please!  :)  I've seen this set used for some beautiful watercolor projects but today I thought, since it's Simple Sunday, I'd see how it would look stamped in a single color onto a piece of Wood Texture designer series paper.  I think it looks like one of those etchings on wood...I love it!  And what a great, super simple masculine card!

The woodland image is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a piece of Wood Textures DSP (I chose one of the light pieces...the image shows up beautifully, but you can still see that pretty wood grain in the background), then layered onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  To add just a touch of texture, I distressed the edge of the Pear Pizzazz with the blade edge of my paper snips before layering it onto an Early Espresso card base.  The sentiment is also stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

And that's it!  Sometimes it's nice to spend a lot of time on a project, if you HAVE the time....but a really quick and easy, simple project can serve the same purpose when you don't have a lot of time.

I will be doing a Facebook Live Stamp Class later this afternoon at 3:00 pm (PST)...come stamp with me!
