Simple Sunday - Merry Christmoose

Simple Sunday - Merry Christmoose

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I didn't get to spend time with ALL of my family--in fact, my husband and son were visiting our oldest daughter in Nebraska.  I had to work so couldn't go...our middle daughter spent a couple of days with me though and even insisted that we cook a full-on Thanksgiving feast for the two of us (we only cooked all our favorite things!)...I had such a good time with her!  And now we're seriously counting down the days to Christmas!

I'm not 100% sure this card qualifies as a Simple Sunday project but it did come together really quickly (I had the idea and it all came together within a few minutes so...maybe?). It was just so stinkin' cute that I couldn't wait to post it even if it wasn't quite as simple as most of my Simple Sunday posts!  (And it really isn't HARD so....maybe???)

Tips & Tricks

  • I BOUGHT this set because of the moose.  I know, I know, we're not supposed to purchase a set for a single image...there are a lot of great images in this set, the moose is just my favorite!  I hadn't even had a chance to use him yet so I figured it was about time!  He's really easy to stamp in Basic Black and watercolor quickly with an aqua painter.
  • I used the Jolly Hat Builder Punch for his hat...there are actually three hat images in the set that coordinate with this punch but I thought it would be really cute to punch it out of DSP.  I punched the fluffy part out of watercolor paper and added some glitter because...well....it's glitter!!  And those little mini jingle bells...love them!
  • Since we're talking about a moose here, I did have to adjust the sentiment a little.  I just used the Basic Black stampin' write marker to cross out "mas" and added "moose".  And I laughed about my cleverness.  *grins*
  • The rest is just layers of paper!  I'm thinking this definitely fits in to the Simple Sunday theme.
