Simple Sunday - Lovely Friends

Simple Sunday - Lovely Friends

We were introduced to some beautiful In-Colors in this year's catalog:  Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, and Tranquil Tide, but I am definitely having a love affair with my favorite, Lemon Lime Twist.  This color is just so...happy!  I'm finding that whether I use a lot of it or just a little, it compliments just about every other color, making it very versatile. Today, I've paired it with Basic Black, and boy does it make that black pop!

Because this is a Simple Sunday design, I wanted to use minimal stamping so I chose the Lovely Friends stamp set.  This set has some large sentiment pieces which are so nice for filling up space quickly and easily!  It also includes some pretty flowers and foliage, as well as some sentiments that are perfect for the inside of a card.

I started this card with a piece of the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This DSP is so gorgeous, with rich, colorful designs and includes three of the new In-Colors (Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide...along with Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla and gold foil).  I chose a design that I could stamp on directly (some of the designs are too busy for this, but make perfect background pieces).  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black ink, then added the foliage images stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

The clear bubbles on the card front are White Perfect Accents.

Do you know what makes these white?  It's a piece of white paper on the back of each one.  If you peel the paper off, the bubble is now clear so you can stick it on ANY color and the color shows through...just apply them with a dab of Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  How awesome is that?

The DSP was then layered on to Basic Black cardstock, then on to a Lemon Lime Twist card front.

As I said, this stamp set has some great sentiments for inside as well...so I stamped on to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and added strips of the DSP to pull it all together.

No fuss, no muss...just a quick and easy card your friend will appreciate receiving. (And BONUS!  This card received my husband's stamp of approval!)

I used the following products on this project:

Until next time...happy stampin'!
