Simple Sunday - Lemon Squeezy

Simple Sunday - Lemon Squeezy

Happy Sunday stampers!  I always look forward to Simple Sunday projects.  I love making more elaborate (read "time consuming") cards too, but Sunday cards are always quick and easy...I like showing you that "quick and easy" can still be adorable!

Today I'm featuring the Lemon Zest bundle which includes the Lemon Zest stamp set and coordinating Lemon Builder punch.  Both of these products will be returning in the new catalog (yea!), but not at the 10% discounted bundled price.  If you like paying less, order this fun bundle before the end of May!

I was inspired to make this card with an idea straight out of the current Stampin' Up! catalog.  One of the cards shown is a cute little 3 x 3 card...I started with that and added to it to make a full-size card.  I stamped the cut lemon image in Daffodil Delight ink several times onto a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 square of Whisper White cardstock.  Each time I inked it, I stamped it two or three times before reinking to get different levels of darkness from the image.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink and then I added a Whisper White baker's twine bow before laying it with Stampin' Dimensionals onto a 3 x 3 Daffodil Delight piece of cardstock.

To create the background, I ran a piece of this Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot in the Simple Stripes embossing folder.   To add the splatter, I picked up some Daffodil Delight ink from the ink pad lid on a wet Aqua Painter and splattered it over the embossed paper.  I stamped the lemon three times in Daffodil Delight ink onto Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched them out with the Lemon Builder punch, then layered them across the bottom of the background piece and trimming the two at either end to line up with the edge.

To finish it up, I layered everything onto a Daffodil Delight card base.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!  :)

I hope you enjoy today, and take the time to stamp something pretty!
