It's time to start our countdown to Christmas! Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be sharing lots of Christmas projects...and not just cards...so check back often!
I used the Good Tidings stamp set on today's Simple Sunday project. This is a two-step set, which means that multiple images are inked and stamped in layers creating a single, multi-colored finished image. I'm really looking forward to being able to use this type of stamp set with the new Stamparatus (available in the catalog in June!), but for now, it's not too hard to line up the layers because this stamp set is photopolymer.
To start this card, I inked the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and stamped it into the top right corner of a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I inked the #1 (this is the boldest image...and they are numbered, which is really helpful!) holly image in Always Artichoke ink and stamped it onto scratch paper before stamping it onto Whisper White cardstock. The #2 holly image was also inked in Always Artichoke and then stamped directly over the first image (no stamping off). I repeated this with the holly berries, using Cherry Cobbler ink, and finally the branch, using Early Espresso ink. The speckles are the Timeless Textures stamp set and are inked in Early Espresso, also stamped off onto scratch paper before being stamped onto the Whisper White cardstock. Finally I wrapped a piece of Basic Black baker's twine around the stamped piece and tied a bow in the upper left corner.
To finish it up, I layered a piece of Merry Music DSP onto the left side of my Cherry Cobbler card base, then layered the Whisper White piece.
If you are looking for a quick and easy project for your Christmas cards, this might be just what you're looking for!
