Simple Sunday - Coffee with a Friend

Simple Sunday - Coffee with a Friend

Today's card is a simple project with a sentiment I think most of us can appreciate.  Do you ever take the time to meet a friend for coffee?  The coffee isn't really what's important when you're with that friend...it's the time you're together talking and sharing, laughing or crying...it's special.

I love the Coffee Break suite!  This fun suite has an assortment of products which include the Coffee Cafe photopolymer stamp set, Coffee Cups framelits dies, the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, the Coffee Break Cardstock Pack, and a couple of pretty, coordinating ribbons.

In the spirit of Simple Sunday, I used only the stamp set and DSP today, along with the Early Espresso stamp pad.  Both of the background pieces are DSP, as well as those adorable little cups!  One of the pieces in the DSP set is all kinds of cups and coffee pots...I just chose a couple of them and cut them out.  Easy-peasy!

I wanted the Crumb Cake paper stamped with the sentiment to stand out a bit from the Pear Pizzazz layer behind it so after I stamped and cut the Crumb Cake, I brushed the paper edges against the Early Espresso stamp pad.  I liked the way these edges did not come out perfectly even...I think it created a cool shadow, which really makes it stand out over the green.  A little layering and some linen thread completed this adorable card!

I used the following products on this project:
