Simple Sunday - Blended Seasons

Simple Sunday - Blended Seasons

Happy Sunday stampers!  I am getting so excited for my Facebook Live later today...still doing a bit of prep but I think I'm just about ready!  I can't WAIT to stamp with you so I hope you'll join me!  If you haven't already, you can like and follow my Facebook page at Facebook.com/dablee.pocketfullofstamps ...and I'll see you at 3:00 pm (PST).  I'm going to be highlighting the special, limited-edition stamp set and framelits bundle, Color Your Season, as well as a beautiful new set of 10 watercolor pencils.  I'll be demoing one project from start to finish but I've been working on LOTS of samples to share with you.  Today's Simple Sunday quick and easy card is one of them!

For this project, I started with a strip of watercolor paper and did a very soft wash using an Aqua Painter and ink from the lid of my So Saffron stamp pad.  When that was completely dry, I stamped the wheat image in Staz-On black ink, moving the image up and down each time I stamped it so the wheat stalks were at different heights.  As a finishing touch on this piece, I again used the Aqua Painter to splatter Crushed Curry ink over the front.

The watercolor paper is layered onto a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, then wrapped twice with Whisper White Baker's Twine (securing to back of DSP), and finally layered onto a Crushed Curry card base.

I used the smallest label framelit and the Big Shot to cut the So Saffron label.  The wheat is stamped on the left side of the label in Crushed Curry ink that was stamped off onto scratch paper before stamping onto cardstock (creating a lighter image), with the sentiment stamped in Staz-On black.  I attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  To finish it up, I tied a Whisper White Baker's Twine bow to the right side of the label.

Hope to "see" you soon!  If today's live isn't a good time for you, I invite you to watch the replay!  And I'll be back on Tuesday with another project to share.

Until next time...happy stampin'!
