Simple Sunday - Beautiful Day SNEAK PEEK!

Simple Sunday - Beautiful Day SNEAK PEEK!

I've had the set I used on today's Simple Sunday project sitting on my desk since I came home from OnStage last month.  I brought home several sets from Salt Lake City, and a few days ago I received my Occasions catalog pre-order so now I have LOTS of new things to play with. I've been focused on Christmas projects but today I couldn't resist them calling my name!  I still have a few Christmas things I want to share with you but for today, I thought you might enjoy another sneak peek!

This gorgeous flower stamp is from a new set called Beautiful Day.  Along with a couple of sentiment pieces, there is also a really pretty butterfly.  I am loving the bold lines of the two main images!  They are perfect for watercolor, which is what I used on this card.

The flower was stamped with Basic Black ink onto a piece of watercolor paper.  I used ink from the lids of Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, along with an Aqua Painter, to color the image.  After it was completely dry, I fussy cut the image.

The sentiment is actually all one image so it was stamped twice using Basic Black ink, once onto Whisper White and again onto Old Olive.  I cut the word from the Old Olive and layered it over the bottom part of the image.

That fun black and white polka dot background paper is from a new Designer Series Paper called Petal Passion...wait til you see it!  It is all black and white and can be used black and white like I used it today, but it can also be colored and Oh. My. is so gorgeous! LOVE IT!

I layered everything onto an Old Olive card base and then added one more new thing...some fun little adhesive-backed sequins!  I always like adding sequins for a little bit of added sparkle and these make it so easy because I don't even have to dig out glue!  The package comes with 250 sequins, 50 each of 5 colors.  I know you're going to want to add them to your Occasions catalog wish list!

I hope you enjoyed today's little sneak for a few more to come before the 2018 Occasions catalog goes live January 3rd!

I used the following products on this project:

Until next time...happy stampin'!
