Happy Sunday stampin' friends! I have some fantastic projects to share with you this week, starting with today's quick and easy card.
Have you fallen in love with the Rooted in Nature stamp set yet? You'll find it on page 143 of the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! catalog. With all the tree and leaf images, it's definitely one of my favorites especially because it works so well for masculine cards, which are hard sometimes! All the sentiments are great (I really like the one I used today) and two of them are bigger and chunky...those types of sentiments are nice to add to a project to help fill white space. Although I didn't use them on today's project, this set also has a coordinating framelit set which is available as a bundle in this catalog...a 10% savings for you when they are purchased together!
Are you wondering what stamp image I used for the background on this card? It's not a stamp at all...I inked up my Block D clear block in Crumb Cake ink and stamped it onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. There is a little trick to this (but it's easy!)...you'll want to have your paper on a something soft like the Stampin' Pierce Mat to get the best coverage. I tried stamping it on my regular stamping surface and it left a lot of holes. Stamping on the mat helps because there is a little bit of give, giving better ink coverage on the cardstock.
The tree and sentiment images were stamped over the block image in Early Espresso ink. Since I had both pads out, I picked up some ink from both the Crumb Cake and Early Espresso pad lids with an Aqua Painter and splattered them over the card front.
To finish it up, I added a bow using the Crumb Cake twine from the Nature's Twine combo pack and then layered the Very Vanilla to the Early Espresso card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
