Punny Christmas

Punny Christmas

I keep telling myself that it's just too early for all the Christmas cards...I seem to be skipping right over Fall!  With so many fun Christmas sets to choose from in the Holiday Catalog, I just can't seem to help myself.  The struggle is real!  I was playing around in my stampin' room yesterday and put together this punny little card with the Fa-la-la-la Friends set.  I bought this set because of the llama....I LOVE the llama!!  But seriously, I have to be able to use a set for more than one piece so I made myself put the llama aside and this is the result!

Step by Step

To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:

5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Crumb Cake cardstock (card base)

4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake cardstock

1-1/2" x 5-1/4" Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper

1/2" x 5-1/4" Gold Glimmer paper

Watercolor paper big enough to stamp bear and cod images

1/2" x 3-1/4" Watercolor paper

1)  Stamp bear and cod images using Basic Black ink onto watercolor paper.  Cut out with Big Shot and Bear Hug framelits.  Turn cut out bear image over and carefully stamp again so that when his arms are folded to hold the fish, his paws will show.  Use Aqua Painter and stamp pads to watercolor images (don't forget the arms on the backside!).  When pieces are dry, adhere cod with a Stampin' Dimensional, then fold bear's arms over and attach to hold.

2)  Run 4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake cardstock through Big Shot using the Holly embossing folder.  Attach Gold Glimmer paper along left edge (I use Tear & Tape Adhesive anytime I'm going to attach glimmer paper...I find that my regular adhesive has a hard time even sticking to the back of the glimmer paper because it's so slick).  Attach the Warmth & Cheer DSP over the glimmer paper so only about 1/4" of the glimmer paper is revealed.  Put a small dab of adhesive on the back side of the crumb cake, where you want to attach the gold cord.  Attach one end of cord to adhesive spot, wrap around the front and attach to the other spot on back.  Clip.  I attached the bells to a small loop of cord.  I tied the first part of the bow and attached the loop with the bells before I finished off the bow.

3)  Stamp sentiment onto 1/2" x 3-1/4" watercolor paper.  Clip "v" into end on the left side.  Adhere to bottom right of embossed Crumb Cake.  Adhere bear to center.  Adhere entire Crumb Cake piece to card base.

Who knows...maybe tomorrow I'll feel like doing a fall project??

Until next time...happy stampin'!

Thank you Barb! I absolutely will…I’m getting ready to send out my next quarter class schedule soon. Can you either e-mail or FB message me your newest address? The last one I had was a Texas address. :)

Nice! I just don’t happen to like the bear. I missButton and Bow Bear. Button Bear was my first S U stamp set.

The llama is my favorite piece in this set, but I think the bears are pretty cute, too. Ahhhh, Button Bear. Loved that set. :)
