New Watercolor Pencils with Blended Seasons

New Watercolor Pencils with Blended Seasons

Hello stampin' friends!  Today's post is a little closer look at the project I shared on Sunday's Facebook Live.  You can catch the replay at if you want to watch how it's made, but I'll also post instructions and the product showcase here if you just want a walk-through.  I had so much fun doing that live...I'm already planning for the next one and I hope you'll join in!

I started this card by stamping the foliage and sentiment images in StazOn black ink onto a piece of thick Whisper White cardstock.  (You'll want to use thick cardstock or watercolor paper because we're going to be adding water to the image.)  The foliage image is colored in with Garden Green and Granny Apple Green watercolor pencils and then I lightly colored around the image with the Balmy Blue watercolor pencil.  Once the image was colored, I went over it with a wet Aqua Painter to blend the colors and pencil lines, then set it aside to dry for a couple of minutes.

For the background, I ran a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot in the Subtle embossing folder.  I also used one of the framelits from the Stitched Seasons framelits set to cut two of the little accent pieces, one for the top left and one for the bottom right corners, which are then adhered to those corners.

Going back to the colored piece, I flipped it to the backside and applied adhesive so that I could lay a piece of the polka dot tulle across it, then layered it onto a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock.  This is adhered to the background piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish it all up, I splattered Wink of Stella over the front, then added a couple of the Basic Self-Adhesive Sequins.

The stamp set and framelits are also sold separately...let me know if you'd like the numbers for those.  And remember that these are only available until the end of August or while supplies last!

The month of August is also seeing the return of Bonus Days!  For every $50 spent, you'll earn a $5 coupon code that you can use in September, and there's no limit to how many $5 codes you can earn!

I've picked out a couple more idea cards to share using this pretty suite over the next few weeks so be watching for those.  I'm hoping to receive my preorder from the Holiday catalog so I may just go live when it gets here...and I'm super excited to play with all the new pretties and share some sneak peeks with you!
