Good morning stampin' friends! I thought I'd break out the new Lined Alphabet set today. Honestly, I had no idea where this card was going when I started it, but ended up being pretty happy with the results! You'll find this fun, photopolymer stamp set on page 174 of the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! catalog.
I like alphabet sets because we can make them say whatever we want. This one is especially fun because it looks great with the images lined up straight, cock-eyed and random, or overlapped, like I used it here. I cut the oval with one of the Stitched Shapes from Whisper White, then realized all the letters weren't going to fit...I stamped them overlapping and I like the way it looks! I used the light and dark Bermuda Bay, as well as the Color Lifter, to color the images after stamping them in black StazOn ink.
My original idea was to cut the word "you" from Basic Black paper using the framelit from the Celebrate You set. After I cut one out and laid it in the spot it was eventually going to end up, I wondered how it would look with something in the middle of the "o". I started poking around my things to see what might fit and stumbled across my container of Tranquil Textures Sprinkles, and decided to build a little window for the beads. I cut out the "you" seven more times, and punch two 1/2" circles from a window sheet. I used fine-tip glue to glue one of the window sheet circles on top of the first "o", then continued gluing the word until I had a stack of seven. I filled the center of the "o" with a few white beads.
I thought it would really stand out of the word was also glossy, so I inked the final piece with VersaMark ink, then heat embossed it with clear powder. While the melted powder was still warm, I quickly dipped it in the powder again and embossed it, repeating this process until I had thick coat of melted embossing powder. After it cooled, I glued the second punched window sheet to the back side of the "o", then glued it over the stack, sealing in the beads.
To finish up the card, I added a twist of polka dot tulle ribbon behind the stitched oval and attached it to a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock which had been run through the Big Shot in the Garden Trellis embossing envelope and attached the "You" with fine-tip glue. Everything was then layered onto a Bermuda Bay card base and splattered with a touch of Wink of Stella.
