Welcome to this month's Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! I'm happy you've joined us and I hope you're being inspired by projects we've created using our "Kits" theme this month!
Our current catalog has several kits you can choose from (you'll find them on 6-11 of the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! catalog). What I love about kits is that they include everything you need to complete the projects in them--even stamps and ink! The instructions make them perfect for beginning crafters who want to create pretty cards but might be a bit timid about getting started. The gorgeous pieces in each kit also appeals to seasoned crafters who want to step out and create on their own. I'm using pieces from the Lots of Happy card kit on a scrapbook page...
I've had this adorable photo of my daughter and grand daughter sitting on my desk for awhile and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use it. I chose a few of the pre-printed and die-cut floral pieces from the kit, as well as some of the die-cut vellum pieces and one of the striped background pieces.
I wanted the flowers to coordinate with the photo so I chose not to use the watercolor pencils that come in the kit, instead coloring with colors from the set of 13 watercolor pencils found in the catalog, along with a blender pen. I also added a bit of Wink of Stella to the pieces for some shine and sparkle.
The next step was to cut out the title...I used the Large Alphabet dies and the Big Shot to cut "SMILES" from Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I wanted to add some texture to the letters so after they were cut, I ran them through the Big Shot in the Subtle embossing folder...definitely my favorite new folder. It is perfectly "subtle"! :) "These" is stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Make A Difference stamp set (wow, I am finding this set to be sooooo handy lately! If you'd like to see some other projects I've used it on recently, you can type "Make A Difference" into the search bar to bring them up...it's a great little alphabet!). After stamping, I used one of the Stitched Labels framlits to cut it out.
The 8-1/2 x 11 page is So Saffron cardstock. I added a touch of texture to it by using a stamp from the Artisan Textures stamp set, stamped in Daffodil Delight ink.
To finish it up, I added a tiny splash of Wink of Stella, a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins and Artisan Pearls to the flower centers. I haven't quite decided if I want to add any journaling or not...I'm thinking I might frame it and hang it up because seriously...these smiles. <3

I'll be back tomorrow with another project to share!
Until next time...happy stampin'!
