You know how they say it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks? I think I'm living proof of that. For as long as I've been stamping, "white space" on a project has bothered me. I always feel like I have to fill it in with something...stamping, color...even texture. So I'm stretching myself a bit with this card, trying to train myself out of my neat little "no white space" box. Even though I'm struggling a bit with the white space, I think I really like this card...what do you think?
Step by Step
To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:
5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Whisper White Thick cardstock (card base)
2-3/4" x 3-1/2" Night of Navy
2-1/2" x 3-1/4" Whisper White
3" x 3-1/2" Silver Glimmer paper
1) Use Big Shot and thinlits to cut butterfly from silver glimmer paper. Layer varying strips of washi tape on to 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" Whisper White cardstock. Layer on to Night of Navy cardstock. Use mini glue dots to attach butterfly over washi tape.
2) Adhere butterfly piece on to card base. Stamp sentiment under butterfly piece using Night of Navy ink.
I used the following products on this project:
