I was so bummed that I didn't have time to stamp last week's Global Design Project challenge, but I made it a priority this week! I'm so glad too, because it was really fun to CASE designer Connie Collins!
The colors Connie chose are GORGEOUS, don't you think?! For my design, I chose to follow her layout and basic design, but I used a Christmas poinsettia stamp image in place of the flowers she used. I was really happy with the way this card turned out!
Be sure to head over to the Global Design Project webpage to see all the projects created by the team, as well as the CASE'd projects! As always, play along if you have an idea for this challenge that you'd like to share!
Tips & Tricks
- Sometimes when I'm going to color in an image, I'll google pictures to see what something looks like in "real life". When I googled poinsettias, I noticed that, in addition to the bright red, I could see bits of pink, so I started watercoloring these images with Melon Mambo, then added Real Red and finished up with Cherry Cobbler in the darkest spots. Although my blending isn't perfect, I was still very happy with the way these turned out!
- Have you tried "splattering" with the gold Wink of Stella? Oh. My. Gosh. It turns out sooooo pretty!
I used the following products on this project:
