It's always nice to start the week with a new Global Design Project challenge...this week we're using a sketch:
Oh my gosh, this is SUCH a great sketch! I'm excited to see what everybody does with it...the GDP team has already done some amazing projects with it! You can check them out by clicking HERE!
As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew what I wanted to use! I pulled out my favorite Wood Textures designer series paper and the Waterfront stamp set and whipped this card out!
I cut the circle from watercolor paper with the Layering Circles framelits set. The images are stamped in Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Marina Mist and watercolored with an Aqua Painter (I also watercolored the sky with Soft Sky). I made a video a few weeks ago showing how to watercolor the Waterfront stamp set. If you missed it, you can click HERE to see it.
The card base is Early Espresso, with another piece of Early Espresso layered on top which I ran through the Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. The next two layers are both from the Wood Textures DSP collection. I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the layers twice and tied a small bow on the front before adding the watercolored piece. Finally I added the banner with Happy Father's Day from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set stamped in Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake adhered with some mini dimensionals. Have you taken a good look at the Thoughtful Banners set? It includes 53 photopolymer pieces and is a great set for mix and matching LOTS of greetings!
Sometimes a card just makes you really happy when you're finished with it... :)
Make sure to head over to the Global Design Project this week to see everyone's cards...and play along if you'd like! The more the merrier! :)
Until next time...happy stampin'!
