I have another sneak peek to share with you for today's Global Design Project challenge...but let me start with the challenge first. This week, we are following a sketch:
This card layout would work so well for a variety of stamping projects! I chose to stick pretty close to the sketch with my card design.
There's actually two sneak peek products on this card...the first is the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. Wait until you see all the great pieces in this set! There's a couple of two-step builder pieces and my favorite thing is all the GREAT sentiments. Although it's technically a "birthday" set, the majority of sentiments can be used to celebrate many occasions...and they are mixed font, which I LOVE. The other new product on this card is the piece of DSP in the background. This is a new 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper stack...oh my gosh, wait 'til you see this! On one side are gorgeous photographs and the other side are coordinating graphic images. And the colors! Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party (along with Basic Black and Whisper White)...so bright and ready to party!
To make this card, I started by stamping the two sentiment images using Lemon Lime Twist ink, one on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and the other on Whisper White. The Lemon Lime Twist was cut with the Big Shot and one of the Stitched Shapes framelits. To cut the white piece, I used a ruler to draw a 1/2" border to frame the words, then I cut along the lines until I came to the part of the larger part of the image and cut around it.
The Peekaboo Peach strip behind the main image is embossed with the Big Shot and the Sweetheart embossing folder. If you look at that folder, you'll see there's a heart in the middle of it. When I placed my cardstock into the folder, I kept it close to the edge...it did leave a small space where part of the heart was, but I covered it with the circle...just another way to use that folder! :) I wrapped some Peekaboo Peach baker's twine around it a couple of times and secured it with a bow.
To finish it up, all the pieces were layered onto a Pool Party card base.
Make sure to head over to the Global Design Project this week to see all the great cards by both the very talented design team and other challenge participants!
I used the following products on this project:
