GDP#116 - Party Panda SNEAK PEEK!

I'm breaking away from Christmas ideas to give you a little sneak peek of one of the Sale-A-Bration sets you'll be able to earn FREE starting January 3rd.  When I saw the Party Panda set at OnStage, I immediately fell in love with this adorable trio of black and white cuteness!  I thought it would be a great set to use on today's Global Design Project challenge!

The challenge this week is to CASE designer Janneke De Jong:

Such a lovely card!  These colors are so soft and pretty together and I love this simple layout.  For my project, I kept the basic layout but decided to place my focal point a bit differently.

In using this set, I knew I wanted the majority of my card to be black and white, but that little balloon was screaming for a pop of color and I thought Lemon Lime Twist was just the thing!  I started with a Whisper White thick cardstock card base and added strips of the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape to each edge, then a layer of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

The center piece is also Whisper White thick cardstock.  I stamped the panda using Basic Black ink in the bottom left corner and used a bit of gray watercolor pencil and an Aqua Painter to add a little bit of shading.  I stamped just the balloon part of the image again onto Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut it out, then added a little highlight with the white watercolor pencil.  I wanted it to have a little bit of dimension, but not quite as much as a stampin' dimensional would add, so I adhered it with a couple of mini glue dots, then added the Basic Black solid baker's twine bow.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and trimmed it to create the little greeting flag.

He's just so stinkin' CUTE!!

Although you can't get the Party Panda set just yet, here are the other products I used for this card:
