GDP #105 - Not-So-Spooky Cat

GDP #105 - Not-So-Spooky Cat

It's Tuesday, which means I'm participating in the Global Design Project challenge!  This week, it's all about a really fun color combination!

When I saw this combination, the Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango made me think Halloween, and I figured I could make that theme work with Lemon Lime Twist...sometimes it's fun to break out of traditional colors!

And since I was going with Halloween, it seemed like a great time to pull out the new Spooky Cat bundle from the Holiday catalog. This bundle consists of the Spooky Cat stamp set and Cat punch:

I am not a huge Halloween or cat fan so this bundle wasn't high up on my list but then I started seeing some amazing things done with it and I buckled.  That cat punch can be used for sooooo much more than Halloween!

The focal point of this card is all about layers.  I started with a circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits from Peekaboo Peach cardstock.  I covered the circle with the background image from the set, using Peekaboo Peach ink.  The cat was stamped with Tangerine Tango ink on to Whisper White cardstock and punched out, and the rat was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and then fussy cut.  I inked the sentiment with the Peekaboo Peach and Lemon Lime Twist markers.  I added a strip of Tangerine Tango cardstock and a bit of Delicate White Doily.  After everything was layered on to my card front, I spattered some Clear Wink of Stella to finish it up.

I used the following products on this project:

Be sure to head over to the Global Design Project to see lots of other ideas using this color combination!

Until next time...happy stampin'!
