GDP#103 - No Bones About It

GDP#103 - No Bones About It

I've been sitting on this stamp set for awhile because I haven't really had a good opportunity to use it.  When I saw what the Global Design Project challenge was this week though, I knew exactly which set I wanted to pull out!

The No Bones About It set is PERFECT for boys because what little boy doesn't love a dinosaur...and this set has so many to choose from!  I chose to use soft colors on this card so I'm thinking a younger boy would receive it, but you could easily use it for older boys just by choosing a different color scheme.

I started with the background piece.  I knew I was going to use one of the leaf images from the stamp set so I wanted to have some leaves in the background, but keep it subtle...the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder was perfect.  A strip of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and some Pool Party Solid Baker's Twine finished it up.

I used the Pool Party Stampin' Pad for the dinosaur...I inked the bold image, stamped off on to scratch paper, then stamped on to my Whisper White cardstock scrap.  The "bones" image was also inked in Pool Party, stamped directly over the other image, then cut out.

The sentiment piece was simply stamped using Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist ink, then layered on to Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  I added a couple of sequins because I think even little boys can use a little sparkly on their cards. Quick and easy, right?

Make sure to head over to the Global Design Project page to check out all the great ideas this week!

I used the following products on this project:
