I was excited yesterday morning to see that my Global Design Project from last week won an honorable mention...that's always fun to see! There were so many great submissions last week so being chosen was an honor. Thank you!
This week's challenge is a sketch:
It's really hard for me to pick just one type of challenge as my favorite but sketch challenge's would be right up there in the top. A sketch challenge is a wide open canvas to me and it's always interesting to see where I end up!
I still had the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper sitting out from the last card I'd done for my Simple Sunday project. I was looking through it and saw this gorgeous piece that looks watercolored to me...and oh, those COLORS! It felt like a really good place to start!
I also decided to use the Badges & Banners stamp set and coordinating punch. Many of our stamp sets have coordinating punches this year and I love it because punches are convenient and easy to use! This set has several very different pieces that work with the punch, which makes it versatile.
I used the Petal Burst embossing folder to give my Wild Wasabi paper strips some texture, and also added a strip of the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon at the bottom. I wanted the word "friend" to stand out...I could have just inked it in a different color (I used the Calypso Coral marker) and left it alone, but I thought it would be fun to cut it out and add it as a banner. Finally, I added a few sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment to finish it up.
Be sure to head over to the Global Design Project this week to see all the beautiful ideas using this quick and easy sketch!
