From Sunday's Live - Country Home

Hello stampin' friends!  If you recognize this card, then you were with me on Sunday when I did a Facebook Live showing you how to make this pretty card featuring the new Country Home stamp set...it was fun having you there!  If you missed it, you can always go back and watch the replay on my Facebook page at Facebook.com/dalbee.pocketfullofstamps.  While you're there, click "like" and you won't miss another live if you don't want to!  I go live every other Sunday at 3:00 pm (PST)...it's always lots of fun and I would love to have you join me!

I am totally smitten with this stamp set.  I love the simple, country feel of the images and the sentiments are perfect for Fall projects (although adaptable to other seasons as well!).  It will be available for you to order in just a couple more days on September 5th.  You'll definitely want to add it to your collection!

I started this project by stamping the pitcher in black Memento ink onto a piece of galvanized metallic paper.  I wanted to change the color so I sponged Bermuda Bay ink over the stamped image...I'm not sure this translates well in the picture but in real life, you still get the metallic sheen, but now it's blue!  :)  I also wanted it to appear a little rusty, so I stamped a splatter image from the Timeless Texures stamp set in Cajun Craze ink.  I cut the image out with paper snips and an x-acto knife.

Next, I used the Big Shot and the largest Stitched Shapes oval framelit to cut the Smoky Slate oval.  I placed the pitcher over the oval to get an idea of where I wanted to stamp the florals, removed the piece, then stamped the florals in black Memento ink.  These were waterecolored with an Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of Old Olive, Soft Suede, Merry Merlot, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie.

To give the cotton a 3-D look, I used a fine-tip glue pen to cover each image, sprinkled on white embossing powder, then heat embossed.  The glue will bubble up when it's heated but can also burn, so watch it carefully as you heat it.  Once the floral piece was finished, I adhered the pitcher.

The oval was then attached to that gorgeous piece of designer series paper, which you'll find in the Festive Farmhouse DSP collection.  I love this collection of papers!  Printed in Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla and Whisper White, you'll find some beautiful plaids, ticking and wonderful wood textures.  I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate and also flicked some flecks of color off the tip of the Smoky Slate Stampin' Write marker.

To finish it up, I layered the focal piece first onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and finally onto a Smoky Slate card base.

(Order numbers for the Country Home stamp set and Galvanized Metallic Cardstock will be available on September 5th.)
