I'm going to fill you in on a little secret...this card has been sitting on my desk unfinished for MONTHS. I made the entire thing, minus the sentiment, back when I pre-purchased this stamp set and pretty copper-embossed DSP. I could never figure out how I wanted to finish it though...I knew I wanted a sentiment but nothing seemed to be quite right. Today I pulled it out again and I happened to have my stitched shapes framelits sitting next to me and I thought, "I wonder...." I think the simple stitched edge of this oval is exactly what this card needed! What do you think?
Tips & Tricks
- The flowers and leaves were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with copper embossing powder on to watercolor paper, then a used an aqua painter and pad to lightly wash the images. I love the pretty softness this technique creates.
- Have you tried the Embossing Buddy (#103083) when you're going to heat emboss a project? If you rub the Embossing Buddy on your paper before stamping and adding the embossing powder, the powder won't stick anywhere on your paper except where the ink is. Handy little thing to have around!
- Some people don't like fussy cutting (and we have framelits just for you!!). This set doesn't have a set of framelits with it so to recreate this project, you will need to stamp and fussy cut all the flowers and leaves. I actually like fussy cutting...I find it relaxing. I always have something playing on my computer when I'm working in my studio so I'll stamp a lot of things that need to be cut at one time, then sit back and listen and cut away!
