I have to admit, I was having a stamping mental block today. I pulled out a couple different sets and nothing was speaking to me. Even when I pulled this set out, I wasn't really having any sort of inspiration but since I haven't used this set in a post yet, I decided to just go with it and see what happened. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves and cutting them out, without any real vision as to what I was going to do with them. I laid them out and then started looking through background papers to see what I thought would look good with the colors I used. When I found the gray stripe, everything came in to focus and I knew how I was going to finish it up!
Step by Step
To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:
4-1/4" x 11 Basic Gray (card base)
2-1/4" x 4-1/4" Gray Stripe (from A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper stack)
2 strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper (1/2" x 4-1/4")
Scrap Blushing Bride (enough for two flowers) and Pear Pizzazz (four leaves)
1) I did something a little different with my flower and leaf pieces. I still used the multiple pieces (two- or three-step stamping) to achieve my finished piece, but instead of stamping on white, I stamped on colored paper. I like the way it looks! To stamp the flower, ink the boldest image with Blushing Bride ink. Stamp onto cardstock. Ink flower image #2 with Calypso Coral ink and carefully stamp over first image. Finally, ink flower image #3 (the detail image) with Watermelon Wonder ink and stamp over other two images. Use the same technique to stamp the leaves, stamping onto Pear Pizzazz paper with Pear Pizzazz ink and Always Artichoke ink. Fussy cut all images.
2) Adhere strips of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper to DSP. On back side of DSP, apply two dabs of adhesive. Attach end of Black baker's twine to one adhesive dab, wrap around front and attach to other dab of adhesive. Clip twine. Attach piece to card base. Stamp sentiment on to card base using Basic Black ink.
3) I curled the edges of the leaves slightly, and used a bone folder to curl the edges of the flowers. Attach all leaves and back rose with adhesive. Attach front rose with Stampin' Dimensionals. Tie a bow onto the twine. Attach sequins with Fine-Tip glue.
