If you are anything like me, you count the days to each and every new catalog release date with eager anticipation. What fun, new stamps sets will I have to add to my wish list? Which accessories will I not be able to live without? My list is usually long...which is why I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator...what's better than being able to help others be creative AND supporting my stamping habit? Not much. *wink* If you're like me, you might actually want to take a couple of minutes to click on my "Join Me" page to see just what being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is all about! If you're not quite ready for that, it's ok! Stampin' Up! is NOT going to make you wait for the release of the 2017 Holiday Catalog to be able to purchase this great set of stamps and coordinating framelits!
The set is called Carols of Christmas and coordinates with the Card Front Builder framelits. The set and framelits can be purchased separately but are also available in a bundle, which saves you 10%! I used this dynamic duo together for today's card.
I wanted my project to have a vintage feel so I started by stamping the Sheet Music background stamp on to Crumb Cake cardstock using Early Espresso ink. I brushed the edges of the paper on to my stamp pad as well. When I was done, I sprayed the piece of paper with water so that the ink would run and fade in places. When it was dry-ish, I crumpled the whole piece in a ball and rolled it around a bit to wear it out and add lots of texture. This piece was then adhered to a slightly larger piece of Early Espresso cardstock. The sentiment is stamped and cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits, and I also brushed the edges in the Early Espresso ink pad.
The part of this card that made me the most happy, was the trees! I cut them from Crumb Cake cardstock with the framelit, then I used Embossing Paste to give them their snowy texture. Can I just say....I LOVE EMBOSSING PASTE!!
This bundle is available for you to purchase the entire month of August...a whole month before the catalog goes live, giving you a little extra time to get started on your Christmas projects!
I used the following products on this project:
Until next time...happy stampin'!
