Hi stampers! Today I'm sharing a project featuring a brand new set in this year's catalog called Botanical Bliss. You'll find it on page 20 of the Stampin' Up! 2018-19 catalog, available in either wood or clear mount. This set is bundled with a coordinating framelit set called Botanical Tags. The stamp set and framelits are available individually but purchasing them as a bundle will give you a 10% discount! I love the pretty images included in the set--especially the bird!--and the sentiments include a birthday and best wishes as well as a couple that could be used for any occasion or someone special.
I love to do a simple collage on projects and went with that today. I decided to also use a "monochromatic" approach and chose to use one of our new In Colors, Blueberry Bushel. Blue is not usually a color I gravitate toward (my favorite color is green) but THIS blue....holy cow. GORGEOUS! I'm glad it will be an In Color for two years...I'm sure I'll use it a lot!
I started by using an aqua painter with ink from the Blueberry Bushel pad to watercolor a corner of a piece of watercolor paper. When that was completely dry, I randomly stamped the flower image, then splattered some of the blue off the aqua painter brush.
While that was thoroughly drying, I stamped the bird and the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock. The bird is fussy cut and I used one of the Stitched Labels framelits to cut the sentiment. The circle is cut from Silver glimmer paper using two of the circles from the Layering Circles framelit set (I cut the scalloped circle first, then again with a smaller, straight-edge circle). I also cut three of the foliage images from Blueberry Bushel cardstock using a framelit from Botanical Tags.
The foliage pieces were glued down first, using Fine Tip glue, followed by the silver glimmer circle. The sentiment and bird are both attached with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish it up, the watercolor paper is layered onto a Blueberry Bushel card base.
Do you have a copy of the new catalog yet? If you'd like one, click "Contact Me" and let me know...if you live in the US, I'd love to send you a copy! (If you're outside the US, I'll be happy to find you a demonstrator near you!)
