Blessing of You

Blessing of You

Last week was very busy and I've only just had time to sit down and stamp some projects for the next couple of days to blog about...and my brain was empty!  What do you do when that happens to you?  I did just get a new stamp set that I wanted to break in so I started there.  A lot of times, I'll head over to Pinterest to see if something gets my creative juices flowing.  In this case, I found a cool ribbon technique that I wanted to try, and I also found a sketch that I wanted to use.  My end product didn't end up looking like the sketch at all, but that's okay, lol!

Step by Step

To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:

5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Close to Cocoa (card base)

3-3/4" x 5" Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper

2-3/4" x 4-1/4" Delightful Dijon

2-3/4" x 3" Watercolor paper

1)  Stamp image using Basic Black ink on to watercolor paper.  Use an aqua painter with Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon and Smoky Slate inks to watercolor image.  Use Big Shot and Petal Burst embossing folder to emboss Delightful Dijon cardstock.  Layer watercolor image on to Delightful Dijon.

2)  To create the ribbon border, start by folding ribbon over and putting a glue dot in the fold.  Fold the other way and add another glue dot.  Repeat for full length of border, folding one way, adding a glue dot, then folding the other way and adding a glue dot.  Try to keep folds as even as possible.  When you've achieved the length you want, clip from ribbon spool, then clip "v" in each end.

3)  Adhere Halloween Night DSP to card base.  Adhere watercolor piece over DSP.  Stamp sentiment using Basic Black ink on to DSP in bottom right corner.  Apply a piece of Tear & Tape along top edge of Delightful Dijon.  Adhere ribbon border to Tear & Tape.

These are the projects I used for this project:
