Swirly Birthday Wreath

Swirly Birthday Wreath

I had plans to get this project up and posted a lot earlier this morning but I got distracted with making my wish list from the upcoming Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration catalog!!  Oh my gosh...so MANY great new things to choose from, it was so hard to narrow it down to just the must-have's!!  As a demonstrator, I am able to pre-order from these catalogs starting Thursday, December 1...and I have my order all ready to go and am now just counting down the minutes!  (If you've ever thought about becoming a demonstrator, that's a big bonus right there!!  Click on my Join My Team button for some other great perks!)  I will also be ordering my Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs on Thursday so make sure you're on my list to get a FREE copy of each (just click on Contact Me and leave me your name and address!)

So, today's card...I stamped this awhile ago, actually when I was making sample cards for my new catalog launch class, but I never got a chance to post it and today seemed like a good day for it!

Tips & Tricks

  • Are the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits part of your collection yet?  If not, you should add them!  This is one of the most versatile sets I have ever seen!  Just type in "Swirly Scribbles" on Pinterest and you won't believe all the great ideas you'll see!  For this card, I used the largest scribbly circle, cut from two different colors of brown--Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip.  By cutting it twice, and from different colors, I got a fuller wreath and also some dimension.
  • When I was adding the flowers to the wreath, I used Stampin' Dimensionals on two and glue dots on the other two.  I like the way the flowers are different heights on the wreath...
  • My favorite tip for using a background stamp is to lay the stamp on it's back (image side up), ink from the top, then apply your paper to the top and rub evenly.  I find it's much easier to get my image straight this way, and also to get a good, even impression.
  • You can never have too much Wink of Stella!  It's always hard to see in pictures, but I colored each flower with clear Wink of Stella before adding the rhinestone.

I used the following products on this project:
