Birthday Boots

Birthday Boots

I absolutely love the Country' Livin' stamp set.  That set just looks right into my world...there's nothing like living in the country!  I also tried out the new stencils from the holiday catalog and I will say that I think there's definitely more stenciling in my future!  I think this card is perfect for either the cowboy OR the cowgirl in your life!

Step by Step

To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:

5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Soft Suede (card base)

4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White

2-1/2" x 2-3/4" Bermuda Bay

2-1/4" x 2-1/2" Watercolor paper

Scrap Bermuda Bay for die cut border

1)  I started this project by laying the stencil over my paper (I like to secure the stencil will a couple pieces of washi tape so it doesn't move around.  I used a sponge brayer over the stencil with Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede ink...starting in the bottom left corner and sponging diagonally with Bermuda Bay, then switching to Soft Suede, overlapping the color slightly with each color change.  Use a stamping sponge so sponge edges with Soft Suede ink.

2)  Stamp boots in Basic Black on to Watercolor paper.  Watercolor image using aqua painter with Soft Suede and Smoky Slate inks.  When dry, layer onto Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Create a "lasso" by pulling out individual strands of the 5/8" Burlap ribbon.  Use several strands to form a circle, then tie at the top with a bow.  Use a glue dot to adhere to top left corner of boot piece.

3)  Use Big Shot and framelit to cut border from Bermuda Bay scrap.  Adhere to top of sponged imaged with Fine-Tip glue.  Adhere boot image under border.  Stamp Happy Birthday in Bermuda Bay ink.
