I am a big fan of the Feather Together stamp set I used today. The multiple-step feathers are so pretty and there are sentiments in this set that are good for "guy" cards...which is a good thing because those can be a little tricky! I also love the font...so yes, I love this set all the way around. Although we'd all like to have every card we send be upbeat and cheerful, sometimes we send a card that says something a little tougher. I like to think that a card can be almost as good as a hug, better if the receipt receives a card AND a hug!
Step by Step
To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:
5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Smoky Slate (card base)
4" x 5-1/4" Watercolor paper
Scrap watercolor (big enough for punch), and strips of scrap Mint Macaron DSP (from 2015-16 In Color DSP stack) and Copper Foil
1) Use an aqua painter and Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron inks to watercolor background onto 4" x 5-1/4" Watercolor paper. After ink dries, use two-step stamping to stamp feathers in Smoky Slate and Mint Macaron. Stamp splatter image over all with Smoky Slate ink (I stamped off on to scratch paper so the image is light).
2) Stamp sentiment on to scrap Watercolor paper using Crumb Cake ink. Punch out image with Decorative Label punch. Use a dauber to sponge edge with Crumb Cake ink.
3) Adhere watercolored paper to card base. Adhere Mint Macaron DSP and Copper Foil strips along bottom edge of card (about 3/4" from bottom). Place some adhesive on back side of sentiment piece. Wrap Copper Metallic Thread around four fingers four or five times, slide off and adhere to adhesive on back of sentiment. Adhere sentiment to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
These are the products I used on this project:
Until next time...happy stampin'!
