Beautiful Shimmer With First Frost

Beautiful Shimmer With First Frost

Happy "It's Almost Friday" stampers!  I am really looking forward to the weekend because I get to stamp with friends at my Holiday Stamp Camp!  It's been a lot of work getting ready for it (and I still have a few things to do!) but I'm so excited to provide "hands on" experiences with so many awesome new sets and products in the Holiday catalog.  Today's project is one of the sample cards I made using the First Frost stamp set, Frosted Bouquet framelits and the gorgeous (seriously!!) Frosted Floral Specialty designer series paper.

To start this card, I cut a piece of the designer series paper to 3-3/4" x 5" for the background.  The thing I love most about this beautiful paper is that BOTH sides are frosted...usually our dsp will have one side that is extra special (embossed, metallic, etc.), but you'll find shimmery goodness on both sides of this collection.  The down side to that is how to choose because each side is amazing!  I layered the dsp onto a Soft Suede card base with SNAIL adhesive.

All the roses are stamped onto Whisper White cardstock--the larger one is stamped in Fresh Fig ink and the smaller ones are stamped in Crushed Curry--then cut with the coordinating framelits and the Big Shot.  I cut the foliage piece from Shaded Spruce cardstock and the other pieces are cut from Whisper White.  The sentiment piece is cut from Mint Macaron cardstock and stamped with Soft Suede ink.

Once I had all the pieces cut, it was just a matter of laying them out in a way that made me happy, then attaching the pieces with either SNAIL adhesive or mini glue dots.  I wanted all the pieces to have the same shimmer as the dsp so I sprayed the card front with a Stampin' Spritzer filled with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and shimmer paint.  (You can probably see the shimmer better in the photo below...hopefully!)  As a final touch, I added a few self-adhesive pearls.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project to share!

Until next time...happy stampin'!
