Hello stampin' friends! I just received the Petal Promenade designer series paper in a recent order and couldn't wait to use it on a project. Holy cow, this paper is GORGEOUS! Very flowery and definitely girly in beautiful shades of Blushing Bride, Fresh Fig, Grapefruit Grove, Highlight Heather and Petal Pink with accents in Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White and Very Vanilla. I thought it would be a perfect accent for the baby card I had in mind as today's project!
I have to confess that this is the first time I've pulled out the Baby Bear set...but it will not be the last! This adorable two-step (the bear itself is actually three images) is much easier to use than I had anticipated! You'll find this photopolymer set on page 84 of the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! catalog. Because it's photopolymer, it is really easy to line up the three pieces that make up the completed bear...and it looks so realistic when it's finished! So cool!
The layered images are numbered, which is helpful. I started with the #1 image (the boldest one), inked it in Crumb Cake and stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock. #2 is inked in Soft Suede, which I stamped off onto scratch paper before stamping over image 1. Finally, the detail is added by inking the #3 image also in Soft Suede (but not stamping off first) and layered. I love the way it suddenly all comes together when that final stamp is placed! After fussy cutting the bear out, I was going to use the stamped bow but thought I'd add a bow tied from Powder Pink ribbon and attached with a couple of glue dots for a little more dimension.
The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot in the Quilt Top embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of that pretty, pretty Petal Promenade designer series paper.
To finish this card, I layered the bear and added the sentiment, stamped in Soft Suede onto a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock.
Don't forget to take advantage of the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale...if you love the Petal Promenade paper I used on today's project, it's available as part of this sale until the end of July!
I'll be back on Thursday with another project to share!
