Adventure Awaits

Adventure Awaits

I love the Places You'll Go stamp makes me want to travel!  I was thinking of my sister when I made this card.  She lives in Texas and she just returned home from a camping trip through Colorado.  Just her and her dog.  I love going on trips but I would be afraid to go by myself (even with my dog...but then, she's little and wouldn't really be much help if there was trouble)!  She inspires me though because if there's someplace she wants to go and nobody is able to go with her....she just goes!  I think that give her a TRUE adventurous spirit!

Step by Step

To complete this project, you'll need cardstock cut to the following sizes:

4" x 8" Island Indigo (card base--this card is 4" x 4" when complete)

2" x 4" Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper

3-1/8" x 3-1/8" Basic Black

3" x 3" Crumb Cake

Scraps of Whisper White large enough for globe and banner

1) Stamp globe image on to Whisper White scrap using Island Indigo ink, then use the Big Shot to cut with Layering Framelits Circles.  Stamp "Adventure awaits" on to scrap Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  Punch image out using the Duet Banner punch.  Use a sponge dauber to sponge around both cut images with Island Indigo ink.

2)  Stamp globe stand on to Crumb Cake cardstock using Basic Black ink.  Adhere cut globe piece onto Crumb Cake.  Apply a small Red Glimmer paper heart onto banner (I used the heart from the Owl Builder punch). Adhere banner piece over globe with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Layer Crumb Cake onto Basic Black cardstock.

3) Use a Foam Brayer and Island Indigo ink to color 2x4 Irresistibly Floral DSP.  Wipe with tissue to remove excess ink from embossed image on paper.  Crumple paper into a tight ball (this is where you know I'm old-school...a few years ago, this was THE technique to use for adding texture! :P ).  Smooth out paper and viola!  Glorious texture!  Adhere DSP to card base on left side.  Adhere Basic Black piece over DSP toward left bottom corner.  Tie a piece of Basic Black twine around card, with a bow on the front, left side.

These are the products I used on this project:
