A Crate of Grape Soda

A Crate of Grape Soda

Howdy stampin' friends!  Today's post features the adorable Bubble Over stamp set and coordinating Bottles & Bubbles framelits.  It's true when they say inspiration can come from anywhere! I was watching Up with Maddi the other day and when Ellie gave Carl the sweet little grape soda top pin, I thought, "How cute would it be to make a crate full of grape sodas"?!  I just love that movie!

I put my Big Shot through a good workout making this card!  I started by cutting the crate...I used the Wood Crate framelit and a piece of Wood Textures designer series paper.  You don't actually need the entire piece because it's not being made into the 3-D crate so just cut a piece of the DSP to fit the part of the crate needed.  I did trim off a piece at the bottom that folds under to make the bottom of the crate.  There's a piece on each side the cut crate that fold to make the sides...I added an extra little score line on each one so that I could add adhesive and attach it to the card front to give it a 3-D effect.  I also wrapped a piece of Whisper White baker's twine around the front and secured it to the back.  Finally, on the back side of the crate, I put a strip of adhesive then stuck some paper scrunchies to it, and trimmed it from the front.

To make the bottles, I first stamped the smaller bottle image in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut them out with the coordinating framelit.  The labels are stamped with Highland Heather ink (stamped off before stamping onto cardstock for lighter image) onto Highland Heather cardstock and cut out with the coordinating framelit.  I heat embossed the heart onto a couple of the labels and the sentiment onto one using VersaMark ink and White embossing powder.  The bottle tops are cut with the framelit from Silver Foil.

To put it all together, I layered a piece of Wood Textures DSP onto the Gorgeous Grape card base.  Without adhering the crate yet, I layed it onto the card front so I could see where to place four of the bottles.  I then removed the crate and attached the bottles to the card front.  The crate was then attached over the bottles by using a bit of adhesive on the scored ends as well as Stampin' Dimensionals in the middle.  I finished it up by attaching the final bottle to the crate front and adding a Whisper White baker's twine bow.  Oh!  And a splatter of Wink of Stella (of course!)!!
