A Country Birthday

A Country Birthday

One of my favorite new sets from the Stampin' Up! catalog this year is Wood Words.  From the solid, wood-grain images to the sweet sentiments, this set just feels as country American as hometown fairs and apple pie.  It pairs so nicely with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, too!

I started this card using the floral spray image from the set.  This image is so pretty stamped in a solid color or watercolored...and just look at how pretty it embosses!  WOW!  I embossed the image on to Crumb Cake cardstock using VersaMark ink and Copper embossing powder, then layered a piece of Wood Textures DSP to create the background.  The Happy Birthday is die cut using the Happy Birthday thinlit and Copper foil.  For a little added texture, I used 1/4" Copper Trim...I love that it can be pulled apart from the edges...it widens and holds its shape for a neat affect!

I finished up with a double layer of Chocolate Chip cardstock (one is cut smaller and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals) and finally layered on to a Calypso Coral card front.  These colors are so pretty together, don't you think?!
